Colin’s Birthday

We celebrated Colin’s birthday mid-July. It was a work day, but we were able to add in some play for the day. To start, Colin had us all slacklining…or falling for some of us. Colin was making us all look bad with his impressive skills. When we were all slacked out, we headed to the Kahana dock (where the boat, the Kahana, docks) to jump from it. We all jumped, but, of course, Colin had to one up us and dive off the dock.

After that, we had to go back to work. It was a bait day and we had a bucket of bait crack and make a mess in the trailer. Colin had to clean it up . . . on his birthday. Character building? The party started back up again at dinner. Colin requested baked mac ‘n’ cheese. He loved it. After dinner, it was time to open presents. We all signed a card for him. The mystery gift from my family that Colin picked out was Mad Libs and Brain Quest. He was excited about that. He opened his bucket from Lee Ann and then opened the gift from Katrina and me. We compiled a large pile of skipping rocks. All the rocks here are round, so we had to search for some flat ones. He was excited to throw those.

After presents were opened, it was time for cake. It was Colin’s Mystery Mocha Cake. He made his wish and the cake was devoured. While we were eating, we whipped out the Mad Libs and played for over an hour. We were laughing so hard that it made us cry sometimes. Colin was providing us with the dirty words to make the Mad Libs more interesting . . . thank you, Colin. Happy Island Birthday!
