Kyle’s Birthday

We celebrated Kyle’s birthday a couple weeks ago. It was a pretty great day. It started off with pancakes made by Steve. Thanks Steve. We did our regular work day things. But in the evening, that is really when the celebration began. It was Steve’s night to cook and he wanted it to scream Kyle. So for dinner he made scrambled eggs, thick cut bacon, and pancakes. There was butter, cheese, and bacon grease involved. From the sound of Kyle’s eating moaning, we all think he enjoyed his birthday dinner. Then it was time for birthday cake, well, in his case, birthday pie. Pumpkin Pie. Katrina and I made Dream Whip for it as well. Our arms almost fell off trying to get it to whip…but we did it! The whole pie is gone. After Kyle blew out his candle, it was just gone.

After killing the pie, Kyle opened presents. He got a Sibley Bird book from LeeAnn; movies, candy and popcorn was the mystery gift he opened from my family; and I had printed out some really nice photos for him on photo paper. He smiled the whole time he was opening gifts – even when he was violently ripping the wrapping open. . . it was kind of scary.

The evening was concluded with a couple of hours of a card game. It involved wresting, violence, swearing, and evil looks. It was a lot of fun. I truly believe that Kyle had an enjoyable day!
