Shark Chute

Every night after dinner has been eaten and dishes have been clean, two of us head to the Shark Chute with the slop buckets.  We gator (use the ATV) to the Western most part of the island to dump our slop.  The bucket contains salt water: from washing dishes, campsuds: soap for dishes, and food scrapes.  That’s anything you would put down the sink at home, like milk, juice from canned fruit, water from boiling pasta; and food items such as, ant infested cereal, moldy bread, and the small food remains that hid in cans that we wash out.

Shark Shoot

We dump the buckets and the fish come for their dinner.  Then we head over to fresher water and rise and scrub brush clean the buckets.  If we don’t they will stink.  After they are clean, we through them back in the gator and head back to camp.  We then set up a clean and empty bucket to be filled with slop for the next day.

  1. Too bad you can’t compost the scraps for your garden!

Which male human is that? (I can’t tell from the pic).
